Writing for His Glory
When someone asks me what my most rewarding experience is as a writer, I tell them it is when I hear that something I wrote touched a heart.
That's why I write.
I write to inspire people with God's amazing love.
I write for His glory.
I love writing devotionals, articles and stories, but my most exciting assignment, so far, has been writing Bible stories for Spark Story Bible. This is a family Bible for kids of all ages. Toddlers enjoy being read to. Early readers love learning to read with these adventures from the Bible. And adults cuddle their little ones under their arms, read and share the excitement. My love for this book comes from more than twenty years of teaching Sunday school.
Life on this earth slowed my writing during the years 2015 abd 2016 due to the loss of my husband John. He lost more than a twenty year battle with cancer in January 2015. Before he died he made sure I would be on the tour leaving our church for Israel in April. I spent my birthday on the Sea of Galilee. It doesn't get any better than that!
I traveled with my daughter and her family in July to Jacksonville, FL for Morgan's competition in the Jr. Olympics, a true blessing. In September, my friend Betty asked me to help her with her husband John's birthday party. A teddy bear of a man, Dennis Loeffler, came late. He asked, "Betty, why are you serving table gum?" I quickly responded, "That is not table gum. It's candy-coated chocolate."
"Nope," he said. "Looks like table gum to me." This man made me laugh. Although neither of us were looking for anyone, God brought us together. We started dating in December 2105 and were married June 4, 2106 in South Lake Tahoe, California surrounded by Betty, John, kids and grandkids. That's when I became Sue Tornai Loeffler.
Glory Charms Jewelry
Inspired by Advent Conspiracy, I planned to make my Christmas and birthday gifts this year. Since I love jewelry, I thought the women on my list would too. So I journeyed to Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's and Michael's where I found beautiful beads, pendants and charms. I discovered more jewelry making supplies on Amazon and EBay. Every time I find a new bead store, I feel like a kid in a candy shop. The awe and wonder are always new.
My creativity burst into necklaces and bracelets made from glass beads, pearls and rhinestones. Later I added earrings and western hat bands to my inventory. Soon I had more jewelry than gifts on my list for the next ten years and in March 2014 I opened shop on etsy.com. I hope you will visit Glory Charms jewelry soon. I look forward to serving you.
Glory Baby Hats
I thought my knitting days were over. I even gave away six boxes of yarn to make room for jewelry making supplies and inventory. Then I started reading books by Debbie Macomber, which inspired me to pick up my needles and knit again.
I had forgotten how much I love to knit and how it relieves stress. I knit hats for newborn babies and donate them to Kaiser Roseville Women and Children's Hospital. More than five hundred babies are born there every month. Thankfully, I am not the only volunteer knitter.
While knitting the hats, I have the awesome opportunity to pray for the babies who will wear my hats home from the hospital--that they will grow in an awareness of God's presence; that they will experience God's amazing love, and that they will come to know Him as their best Friend forever.
