“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what
day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him," Matthew 24:36-44.
How can we be ready? This is what the Bible says:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ ; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself, Luke 10:27.
If serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD, Joshua 24:15
Think About It
When Jesus returns, riding on the clouds with the angels, I will be ready and I hope you will too. Love God with all your heart and if you do, you will keep His commandments and serve only Him. The world has many distractions, but when we keep our eyes on Jesus by reading His word and talking with Him in prayer, we can overcome the world just as He did, because He is always with us. Trust Jesus and discuss with your parents ways to serve him this week. What will you do?
Pray About It
Lord Jesus, I can hardly wait to see You when you come again. Thank you for the hope You give me to live for You for eternity. Help me to find ways to love others and serve them as you do. Amen.
