About Sue

Picture
When someone asks me what my most rewarding experience is as a writer, I tell them it is when I hear that something I wrote touched a heart.

That's why I write.

I write to inspire people with God's  amazing love.

I write for His glory.

I love writing devotionals, articles and stories, but my most exciting assignment, so far, has been writing Bible stories for Spark Story Bible. This is a family Bible for kids of all ages. Toddlers enjoy being read to. Early readers love learning to read with these adventures from the Bible. And adults cuddle their little ones under their arms, read and share the excitement. My love for this book comes from more than twenty years of teaching Sunday school.

Life slowed my writing during the years 2015 and 2016 due to the loss of my husband John. He lost a twenty year battle with cancer in January 2015. Before he died he made sure I would be on the tour leaving our church for Israel in April. I spent my birthday on the Sea of Galilee. It doesn't get any better than that!

I traveled with my daughter and her family in July to Jacksonville, FL for my granddaughter, Morgan's competition in the Jr. Olympics. In September, my friend Betty asked me to help her with her husband John's birthday party. A teddy bear of a man, Dennis Loeffler, came late. He asked, "Betty, why are you serving table gum?" I quickly responded, "That is not table gum. It's candy-coated chocolate."

"Nope," he said. "Looks like table gum to me." He made me laugh.  Although neither of us were looking for a marriage partner, God brought us together. We started dating in December 2015 and were married June 4, 2016 in South Lake Tahoe, California surrounded by Betty, John, our kids and grandkids. That's when I became Sue Tornai Loeffler.

I lead Bible studies for women in my home and at New Beginnings Pregnancy Resource Center, Benton, Arkansas. I work as a volunteer chaplain at Saline Memorial Hospital, Benton, Arkansas. I enjoy reading, writing, knitting and making jewelry.

I live with Dennis my husband and Maggie our dog in a forest a block from the lake. It's a paradise on earth in Arkansas.
