Blog - Talking with Jesus |
![]() Some people brought to Jesus a man who could not hear. He also had trouble talking, which is common for those who cannot hear. The man's friends begged Jesus to put His healing hands on him. Jesus took the deaf man away from the crowd and put His fingers in the man's ears, spit and touched the man's tongue. Then He looked up to heaven and sighed a big sigh. "Be opened!" That's all Jesus said, but as soon as He said it, the man could hear and speak. He spoke plainly so everyone understood what he said. I can only imagine what the man did next. If Jesus had healed me, I don't know if I would have fallen to my knees or thrown my arms around Him. What would you have done? The crowd said, "He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak." This is fulfillment of a prophesy made by Isaiah who lived more than seven hundred years before Jesus. Check this out in Isaiah 35:5. "Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped." Think About It I like it when Jesus proves something someone in the Old Testament said. It increases my faith and makes the Bible more valuable to me. This week as your read God's word, look for other fulfillment of prophesies and write them down. Pray About It Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your love, care and healing power. Thank you that we can see fulfillment of prophesy in your word. Open our eyes and ears that we will understand Your message. Amen.
