Blog - Talking with Jesus |
![]() Jesus cautioned the disciples about false prophets. A false prophet is someone who preaches what they think is right, but it is not what the Bible says. If you hear a friend say they think they are good enough to get to heaven, do not believe them. If a teacher encourages you to work for your salvation, do not do it. Jesus died on the cross to take away our tendency to sin, doing things that disappoint God. He rose from the dead to give us eternal life with God. When we experience that kind of amazing love, we will want to love others the way God does. We will be motivated to work in the kingdom, but not for our salvation or the hope of heaven. People in this world get these mixed up. You don't have to. Believe what Jesus said. "Enter through the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it. Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves. You'll recognize them by their fruit" (Matthew 7:13-16). Think About It Many times the worldly ways seem more attractive. I've been misled by the words, "If it feels good, do it," or "You're the most important person." Both of these are wrong. God is the most important part of our lives. He created us to be with Him and to live for Him. He wants to be our forever Friend. Living in relationship with Him is more fun anyway. It brings new joy and mercy, peace and hope every day. Pray About It Thank you, Lord, for loving me and saving me for an eternity with You. I love you and want to live for you, not myself. Amen.
