At Christmas we celebrate God's gift of love in His son, Jesus Christ. He lived on earth a short time, but He changed everything. He fulfilled prophecies in the Old Testament and gave hope of eternal life with Him in the New Testament.
It's fun for me during this time of year to think about Jesus' second coming. He said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am" John 14:1-4.
How can we know we are included in the ones Jesus spoke to? He said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" John 14:6, and "If you love me, you will obey what I command" John 14:15. Do you believe in Jesus as your Savior? Do you love Him and obey His command to love your neighbor as yourself? Then, you can look forward to seeing Jesus when He returns.
Think About It
Jesus came that we might have life forever with Him. Anticipate His second coming with joy and peace.
Pray About It
Thank you, Father God, for Jesus, Your divine gift of love. Help me to love as you do. Amen.
