1 Minute for God- Take a break

If you're feeling worried, your shoulders feel heavy with responsibility, or you can't see past the stress swirling in your mind, I want to remind you to take a break from those things for a little bit today.

You probably don't want to take your eyes off of the pressuring tests at school, work deadlines, and additional responsibilities that you know you'll forget the moment you rest,

but rest is important.

Jesus says, "Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30)." Jesus is more important than your schoolwork, work responsibilities, and your seemingly unending list of to-do's today.

In a world full of people feeling like Martha did in Luke 10, remember that Jesus saw importance in Mary sitting with Him and listening to His words. It's ok to give these things to Jesus- something often heard but easily forgotten.

One second of stopping and being with Jesus holds power.

So take a moment today to stop and spend a minute or two with Him, or however long you'd like. Choose the good portion: Sit with Jesus and listen to his words today.
