A New Day: A One-Minute Read of Encouragement

I don’t know if you’re like me, where you have a good streak for a while spiritually and then you completely forget it the next few days. It leaves your brain and after a day of two of inconsistency, you’re beating yourself up saying you haven’t spent time with the Lord at all.

Well, here’s a reminder that his mercy is new every morning. There is a joy and peace that he sets forth for his children each day and he remembers the good days in the past as well.

But he tells us to forget former sins, guilt, shame, mess ups, etc.

A lot of mornings lately I’ve spent zoned out, drowsy, irritated, and forgetful of my devotion with God. It’s easy to feel that way.

But if we remember how God never sleeps, how he watches us all the time and provides for us 24/7, how his mercy is new every morning and he has provided not only the gleaming sunlight but his own light in our hearts because he loves us, it’s gives a new, motivating, and empowering perspective on the day.

Maybe yesterday you didn’t spend time with God. Even if you didn’t, that’s ok- today is a new day.

Maybe you have an illness and it’s hard for you to do anything the first few hours after waking up. God knows you better than anyone and understands.

Maybe you have to have a night schedule and early mornings are spent catching up on rest. That's ok.

Whatever your life looks like, his mercies are new every morning. That goes for you too.

Remember that the relationship you have with God is not a punishable one anymore in Christ Jesus. It is full of love, mercy, grace, patience, forgiveness, long suffering, and more.

His mercy is new every morning. Soak in that truth today, regardless of what your past days looked like.

Verse of the week✨

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭ESV‬‬
