Easter Message 🕊️

”Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”“

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭1‬-‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

On Easter, it's normal to celebrate with candy, easter egg hunts, and the Easter bunny. While these things can be fun, the reason why we celebrate Easter is the above passage.

The true reason behind Easter is Jesus and His resurrection, which holds the greatest historical event to ever happen. Jesus paid for our sins on the cross when he died for you, and he rose three days later from the grave because He is Lord over all.

It's important to note that there's a parallel between Jesus' death and resurrection.

In Romans 6, Paul writes about the similarity between this:

”What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.“

‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Our sins died with Jesus on the cross, and we are raised with Him through His resurrection!

Whatever sins you've committed, and whatever sins you will commit in the future have been paid for by Jesus if you believe in Him!!

This means that our previous eternity in hell has been overridden. You no longer have to spend eternity slaved to sin and darkness; if you believe in Jesus Christ and that he died for your sins, repent of your sins and sincerely come to him, you will be saved from the devil and hell!

Jesus prepares a place for his believers in heaven. You no longer will be destined to a place of eternal suffering but live in heaven with Jesus forever!

That is the good news of Easter that we celebrate- we were once lost and dead in our sins, but Jesus died for us all that we might believe in Him, and he rose from the grave three days later. He is alive and he has triumphed over sin and death! He has defeated the devil once for all- all for your heart. He loves you infinitely. I hope you remember that this Easter. 🤍
